Cleaning do's and don'ts for your tap
Clean regularly with hot soapy water and a soft cloth, cleaning on a regular basis is much more preferable to the finish than infrequent ‘heavy’ cleaning.
We recommend the use of E cloths, microfibre or soft cloths.
If the product has a removable spout diffuser it can be unscrewed and cleaned periodically in warm water and vinegar to maintain flow rates.
Always rinse the item with water after cleaning.
A 50% mix of water and white vinegar can be used to remove limescale deposits, ensure to rinse thoroughly after use, do not leave the vinegar in contact with the surface. Soaked cotton wool, a nylon scratch pad or toothbrush can be used on difficult areas. Dry the item after every use to delay future build up.
Please take care using household cleaning sprays (irrespective of the label claim) as they can have a damaging effect. Special finishes like our Antique Brass and Matt Black finishes need to be carefully cared for as they are more prone to accidental damage when our care and maintenance instructions are not followed.
Ensure your boiler remains in full working order by following our maintenance recommendations here. Not only will regular maintenance prolong the life of your boiler, but it will ensure you have plentiful supplies of steaming hot water on demand. Our PROBOIL® filters will help to prevent the calcification (scaling) of the boiler, however as scale deposits can still build on the boiler elements over time our boilers need to be descaled at least once annually. Descaling the boiler will ensure the maximum energy efficiency and service life of the product, especially in hard water areas. The frequency of descaling will depend entirely on your water hardness, the suggested minimum descaling frequency is once annually. If you live in a hard or very hard water area, then we recommend the use of two bottles at a time. Descale solution can be purchased here.
